A unique Victorian farmhouse overlooking Vale House Reservoir in the Peak District National Park. The homeowners bought this large family home and soon discovered that it was very cold in the winter due to its solid uninsulated walls and a very old heating system. Mantis Energy provided a retrofit plan to assess all possible building fabric improvements and low-carbon heating options. The home now benefits from Woodfibre insulation used in the walls and roof spaces, new thermally efficient windows, a ground-source heat pump system, and solar PV panels.
