Brosterfield Hall: Low Energy Rural Home

Derbyshire

Project

An old farm house with almost no insulation in need of refurbishment and modernisation. The homeowners wanted a comfortable home that utilises low carbon heating and renewable technology. The result is a future proofed home heated by a ground source heat pump, heat recovery ventilation (MVHR) and Solar PV panels to generate renewable electricity. Low embodied carbon building fabrics and insulation were chosen for this project due the old stone walls needing a more breathable and vapour permeable solution.
