It all starts with a review and a comparison. Is your building energy usage, energy rates and standing charge higher or lower than the market average? And what is the best course of action?
We have a variety of clients who are on high energy tariffs and need to switch supplier and others on great low cost tariffs however with very large energy use. As you can imagine a different strategy is needed for each client and sometimes the solution is to look at changing supplier and reducing energy at the same time.
At Mantis we review the latest commercial rates, framework energy rates and standing charges based on electrical supply size. In addition to this we have data from over 2,500 buildings as well as benchmark energy use data to confirm if further energy savings are available.

As we work with large public sector organisations we can often negotiate large contracts with the big energy suppliers. Dealing with estate wide energy contracts can allow single building organisations to benefit from these preferential rates as we typically combine all upcoming deals into one large negotiation.

Energy Monitoring & Advice
All too often with public sector and commercial buildings we use a lot more energy than we need to. Commercial buildings tend to use a lot of energy at weekends, in early mornings and at night when there is no one in the building and during holiday periods when buildings can be close for extended periods of time.

Desktop & On Site Energy Audits: Get detailed insights into your energy consumption and prioritise quick wins actions with our energy audits. We offer both on-site audits and desktop energy audits to suit your needs and budget.
Smart Metering & Advanced Energy Monitoring: For sites with no smart metering we can ensure that energy suppliers fit a smart meter as standard and where this is challenging or you require more insight we can provide an advanced energy monitoring solution. Half hourly data can be very insightful however we can monitor energy down to each circuit if required. Wouldn’t it be great to know how much energy your lighting, plug sockets, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, IT suite, gyms, pool areas, heating, air conditioning, plant rooms consume and where the biggest opportunity is for energy reduction.
Peak Load Monitoring: Knowing your peak load when the building is using the maximum energy it can is more important than you may first think. While it doesn’t directly impact energy usage having access to a large supply and using very little can actually be costing you a lot in daily standing charges to keep a large supply to your building. In other scenarios you may need the extra supply for a decarbonisation project such as switching your gas boiler to an air source heat pump.
Building Energy Management Systems: Do you have an onsite building management system that can monitor energy usage?
