Larkhill is an ultra-modern super home in Manchester, designed with comfort, efficiency, and sustainability at its core. Mantis delivered full Mechanical & Electrical design services, ensuring the property meets the needs of its occupants while keeping energy use and operating costs to a minimum.
Renewable Heating & Ventilation
To create a healthy and efficient living environment, the super home features an air source heat pump paired with underfloor heating and a mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) system. This combination delivers consistent warmth, balanced airflow, and year-round comfort.
Detailed design heating, hot water and ventilation layouts were provided using the latest 3D MEP design software REVIT to help architects, builders and clients visualise and build.
Harnessing Solar Power
The property’s large flat roof provided an ideal space for a solar PV array. Mantis carried out simulation analysis and design layouts to maximise renewable energy generation, reducing reliance on the grid and lowering long-term costs.
The property will also benefit from large Battery storage systems and electric vehicles charge points allowing low cost electricity tariffs to be utilised resulting in a low operating cost home.
Collaboration with BUJU Architects
Working closely with BUJU Architects, Mantis ensured all mechanical and electrical systems integrated seamlessly with the property’s modern architectural design. From plant room layouts to detailed schematics, every element was designed for performance and efficiency.
