Mantis worked closely with the client and Progress in Practice, the project’s architects, to design one of the UK’s most energy-efficient homes. This large contemporary property has been designed to meet PassivHaus+ certification, the highest standard of low energy building performance.
Designed for Energy Efficiency
Every aspect of the property is focused on minimising energy demand. The home features highly insulated building fabric, airtight construction, and high-performance triple-glazed windows, ensuring exceptional thermal performance.
Renewable Energy Systems
To achieve net zero emissions, the property incorporates a renewable heating and cooling system, underfloor heating, and a large solar PV array designed to generate electricity on site. Combined with mechanical ventilation and heat recovery (MVHR), these systems ensure comfort with very low running costs.
Detailed M&E Design Services
Mantis delivered a comprehensive suite of Mechanical & Electrical services, including feasibility studies, utilities design, SAP and water efficiency calculations, heating and cooling layouts, and full schematics for hot and cold water systems. Every system was carefully integrated to achieve the PassivHaus+ requirements.
