Mantis has supported The Challenge Academy Trust with its net zero carbon strategy.
We produced 10x Heat Decarbonisation Plans, from which 5 schools were prioritised for detailed investigations, a successful PSDS funding application with mechanical & electrical design support.

Our Approach

Decarbonisation Work: Produced 10x Heat Decarbonisation Plans, assessing viability and funding options.

Intrusive Inspections: Conducted air pressure testing, cavity wall borescope inspections, roof sampling, and detailed utility assessments across 5 priority schools.

Funding Application: Compiled comprehensive evidence for a successful Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) bid.

Design Delivery: Provided heating distribution design, mechanical plant room layouts, and tender documentation for contractor with detailed design selection.
Outcomes

Secured PSDS funding for 5 schools within the Trust.

Delivered tender stage mechanical and electrical designs, ready for contractor with design selection.

Enabled the replacement of fossil fuel heating systems with ground source heat pump technology, supported by upgraded heating distribution networks.
