  1. Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

Mantis Energy Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2035 across all scopes of our operations. This Carbon Reduction Plan outlines the measures currently implemented and planned to support this target, in accordance with PPN 06/21 and the associated technical standards for reporting greenhouse gas emissions (GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1:2018).

Mantis Energy achieved a 25.6% reduction in total reported emissions compared to the baseline year.

  1. Carbon Reduction Initiatives

4.1 Green Travel Policy

  • Adoption of a Sustainable Travel Policy prioritising virtual meetings over travel where feasible.
  • Encouragement for staff to use public transport, car sharing, cycling, or walking for commuting and site visits.
  • Business travel emissions tracked and reviewed quarterly.
  • Cycle-to-Work and EV salary sacrifice schemes in place.

4.2 Transition to Electric Vehicles

  • Procurement of EVs for site visits, phasing out petrol/diesel vehicles for travel to Mantis sites by 2027.
  • Installation of EV charging points at head office to support personal adoption of EV vehicles and support the company fleet.
  • Charging exclusively via renewable electricity supply.

4.3 Renewable Energy and Office Energy Efficiency

  • 100% renewable electricity tariff in use.
  • LED lighting, smart heating controls, and power-down policies implemented.
  • Hybrid working to reduce office energy consumption.

4.4 Carbon Offsetting

  • Partnership with Ecologi to offset 100% of residual operational emissions through verified tree planting and carbon removal projects.
  • Monthly contributions support reforestation, renewable energy, and global sustainability initiatives.

4.5 Sustainable Procurement

  • Preference for ISO 14001-certified suppliers or those with carbon reduction strategies.
  • Sustainability criteria embedded in procurement processes.
  • Local sourcing to minimise freight emissions.

4.6 Waste and Resource Management

  • Reduction in printed materials through digital workflows.
  • Office recycling covering paper, plastics, glass, and e-waste.
  • Commitment to achieving zero waste to landfill by 2030.

  1. Carbon Reduction Targets

Mantis Energy aims to reduce total Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 80% by 2030 (from the 2023/24 baseline) and achieve Net Zero across all scopes by 2035.Interim Targets:

  • 2027: 50% reduction in total emissions
  • 2030: 80% reduction
  • 2035: Net Zero (residuals offset through verified carbon removals)

Progress will be monitored annually and published in sustainability reporting.

  1. Declaration and Sign-Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance, and reporting follows the GHG Protocol corporate standard and DEFRA emission factors.
